A Cosmopolitan Life
Once upon a time I wanted to lead a cosmopolitan lifestyle. I wanted to belong to the throngs of the rich and famous and attend glamorous parties. I wanted to wear beautiful gowns and have my hair and makeup done by the best of the best. I wanted all these things.
But then I grew up. I had children and I realized that all those dreams were meaningless. The best thing in life is watching your children grow and become these wonderful human beings that you created and helped shape.
I wonder now why I ever wanted any of those things. They don’t amount to happiness. They can’t complete you in any way. They are unimportant in the end.

Broken
She was broken. She felt her life hanging on by a bare thread yet she could do nothing about it. The thoughts of him continued to simmer in her brain and the agony was unbearable. She couldn’t hold on any longer. The world was crashing down around her. So she let go.

When I began writing this, I didn’t really know where I was going with it. I mean it as a tribute to those who lost their lives on September 11th. It is not meant to offend or to judge. It is not meant to be an accurate depiction of what could possibly have been in their minds before they jumped. It is just a thought. My thought. Nothing more.
Forgiveness
He has thrown up his hands
At those that have soaked the soil with blood for centuries.
He shakes his head at them
Like a dog shaking off cold water.
For the course of true love never did run smooth
As he spread his arms in the greatest illustration of forgiveness known.

I know it only was required to use three words out of the five, but it was so much better to use all five in this case. I used quotes that contained the words for inspiration. I hope you like it.
