Death’s 30 Ideas to Relieve Boredom: Idea #5

I thought of this last night while laying in bed.  It’s a fun one.  I do this with my kids all the time.  A great way to relieve boredom is to simply drive your children insane.  Don’t have children?  That’s okay, this can work on a significant other or even friends.

Kid:  I’m hungry/bored/tired.  (You get the idea)

Mom/Dad:  Nice to meet you hungry/bored/tired, I’m Mom/Dad.

Kid:  What’s up?

Mom/Dad:  *looks up at the ceiling, looks back at child, points upward*

Apparently they don’t like it when you start singing along and dancing to songs they like either.  Even better, start singing a song in a grocery store.  I have two songs I like to sing when I’m in Walmart.  The first one is “Unwell” by Matchbox Twenty.  Specifically the line that goes “I’m not crazy, I’m just a little unwell”.  It’s always fun to do that one when cute boys are checking out your teenage daughter.  And the other one is “Raspberry Beret” by Prince as we are walking out the doors, specifically the line “She walked in through the out door, out door.”

So, do you have any ideas to have a little fun at the expense of your children/friends/significant other?  Please leave your comments below.  And, above all, have fun!
