One of the things that I like to do when I am bored is to check out new places to eat around me. Because of limited funds, this has been mostly fast food restaurants at the moment. We have hit almost all of them in town so far: Burger King, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, KFC, Dairy Queen, Jack In The Box, etc. But last night my kids and I decided to try a more local place called Texas Burger.
The price of this place was a little higher than your Burger King or McDonalds, but you definitely got a better burger than those places. The menu is fairly basic and doesn’t overwhelm you with too many options. We went through the drive-thru (because we wanted to eat at home while watching a scary movie). The wait was rather long considering nobody was inside the restaurant and nobody was even in line ahead of us or behind us, but I considered this more like a Steak and Shake (longer wait for a better product). We got the food home and dug in.
The burgers were super greasy, but tasted delicious. If I had to criticize, I’d say to take off a little bit of the grease (I like greasy, but this was overdone) and to make the buns a little bigger because they just fell apart on me from all the grease. Their fries were okay, but nothing really to write home about. I would definitely go there again if I was ever in the mood for a decent burger (none of the other places in town have any).
So, next time you are bored, head on out and try dining at someplace new. Then go home and blog about your experience.
