I’m not really planning on writing posts like this very often, but I felt like sharing this experience with everyone. Please bear with me on this.
Last night, I had a migraine. So, I took my usual dose of Tylenol and went to bed fairly early (about 9:pm). At around 3:am my cat woke me by jumping on my bed as he tends to do at the same time every night. I woke up and was wide awake for a while as I petted him. I could hear the neighborhood dogs howling at the moon at that time as well.
Eventually I fell back to sleep. At some point I heard my mother calling for me. I could tell it was definitely separate from the dream I was having. But I couldn’t wake up. I felt paralyzed, like I had taken some sort of drug or something. I simply could not force myself to come fully awake.
That’s pretty much it. Nothing happened. Nothing overly dramatic. Just this complete inability to come fully awake when I heard my mother calling for me. By the way, we live near each other, but not in the same house. She wasn’t calling for me.
